Nina's Blog - Wednesday 6th September 2023

I'm out and about dressed again, my excuse is that I had to post a parcel.

Changed in a layby about 5 km from home.

Have to wear tights with this dress, it's split up to my hips both sides. I nearly chickened out of wearing this dress. Had to decide between wearing it and going barefoot.

It wasn't quite as warm as yesterday so I added a light pretty jacket when I went for a walk past my favourite sculpture.

Got home in time for dinner. On the way I stopped in a supermarket car park to change. I parked in an empty part of the car park but by the time I had taken my tights off there were cars parked both sides, one with a pair of teenage boys staring out of the windows in my direction. I didn't feel like stripping down to my bra in front of them so drove on a bit closer to home. before taking off my dress.

Anyway, after the Caravelle Café I stopped at the Meny Supermarket, Høvik, to post my parcel to Tromsø. On the way back to the car I noticed a pop-up art shop with this paining in the window:

It's quite a big piece 1 x 1.2 metres. The price was 25 kNOK, about 2.5 kUSD.

Median income in Norway in 2022 was 572 kNOK [1] The artist would have to sell 22 of them to reach that, about two per month. But that ignores what it costs to produce and sell, the overheads. I don't know how much it costs to rent the pop-up shop but a flat of that area in that location would cost at least 10 kNOK per month plus energy costs.

I wonder how long it takes to paint such a picture and how quickly such things sell? Perhaps @antonijamar could tell us?

Then I stopped at IKEA because I wanted to see if I could find some cheap lamps. they didn't have anything I liked. Had coffee and eplekake

Between charging the car and going for a walk I went to Speiderens Gjenbruk, Gamle Tanumsveien, Bærum on the way and bought three pairs of earrings for 100 NOK. Actually one pair might not be a pair but both earrings are most likely from the same series.

I put the not-quite a pair on straight away.

One last few pictures before I set off for home. Should charge the car on the way so I should leave now or I'll be late for dinner.

I've only got about half way through the day's pictures. The next stop after the sculptures was the Caravelle café. What I have posted so far was meant to be posted from there but their WiFi wasn't working.

Anyway I ordered a mocha coffee and carrot cake, went and sat down, kicked off my shoes and curled up on the sofa.

I was all alone in that part of the café
As there was no WiFi and there was no one who might be disturbed by the noise I listened to a couple of Crowd Science podcasts while enjoying my snack and the decor.

Wednesday 6th September 2023, after the charity shop I went for a walk in the Henie Onstad sculpture park, one of my favourite places as I'm sure you have noticed.

While in the sculpture park I visited another favourite, Camilla Løw's Neon Winter

Not everything in the park is man made of course. There are some fine toadstools

And some very tall Evening Primroses

I'm posting a lot of this backwards. Before visiting Ragnarok for the 117tg time I was a little bit naughty with Zeus and Io
