I just heard on the Radio 4 news that someone is growing tea outdoors, on Shapinsay, Orkney! The most northerly tea plantation in the world apparently.

Yes - congratulations to her! I missed the first part of the report but it's certainly intriguing.

I knew there is or was a small tea plantation in Cornwall, but to grow tea in the Orkneys, on about the same latitude as Stavanger, Stockholm and the middle of Hudson Bay, is quite something!

@ArishMell The Cornish tea garden is a working commercial enterprise. They have been running for some years now. I'd like to try it but it's a bit expensive. You can buy their tea online: https://tregothnan.co.uk/
