I don't care if someone disagrees with me on political issues, if they don't see eye-to-eye on the best approach to education or health care or feel differently about certain politicians or activists. But for example, as an LGBT person, I don't think I could be friends with someone who didn't have a basic level of respect for who I am. I'm not going to pretend to be someone else for their sake. A Christian friend was saying the same thing to me: she can definitely be friends with atheists or people from other religions, but they can't belittle or mock her beliefs--you just don't want to be around people like that.
I've been blocked by a few users for expressing pro-Palestine views, so definitely not everyone can get along with users they disagree with. Which is probably for the best. I'd rather you block me than go on a tirade against me. 🤷🏼♂
