I have been on vent, on Reddit, on Facebook, and other social platforms but none has had these many whining posts about being blocked.
I swear it's like watching a choir of that scream plant from Harry Potter.

Has this always been a norm on SW? Or is it something that has started recently? What happened with "with age comes wisdom"?

On vent there's users who's minors and not even them whine this much about blocks.

There’s even a group about it here. Some people have expressed the opinion that posters shouldn’t be able to "block for no reason". No one does that; everyone has reasons. They may not what be what the blocked person considers good reasons, but it’s still their choice.

I block people who annoy me to the point where I know I’m about to lose my temper; often people who are racists, who basically hate women or don’t see them as human beings, bigots of all stripes, and I rarely regret it. I understand some have complained about being blocked, which I don’t get; surely they weren’t enjoying the conflict either. 😳

I know! I feel the same way. Maybe it's their ego being stomped because in the end, the other person was more reasonable than themselves. Which don't rhyme together with all their judgements about them for disagreeing in x topic.

@Queendragonfly With the consolidation of groups it may no longer exist but there was a group called "I Was Blocked" where people would discuss it.
