Does anyone know anything about how to make a website?

I have to make one for this class this week and have no idea how to do it. Also all these websites they claim are free in fact cost money to set up and it’s pissing me off. I paid 50$ for the book for this class already. Im paying 500$ to just take the class why do I have to pay more to make a website Im never gonna use?

@NerdyPotato thanks. Im trying to make one on wix as it seems to be cheap and “easy” but I’ll check it out. I understand that a writer needs to have a website but no one in this class has been published.

Free? For free you have webflow free templates but not from scratch. Canva. You also can use the regular WordPress. If you want to customize all of them would require pay or youd have to use their domains at the end. Ex. Mycanva.com

Does it have to be published online, or can you provide a local copy? You can write simple html code in notepad.
