Is this site dead?

Seems like a bunch of empty topics and not much else. Reddit is bigger. Why is this place deserted?

If people were to stop talking about problems in their lives and problems in America the site might flourish. The downvoting and messaging options are also things holding back the site- which is otherwise well designed.
