Yes, and not just kinda. I'm afraid the old social media type of sites are gone forever.

They are places for advertisers to put their stuff, and for political parties to spew their nonsense. Filter through it and it's OK, but I am not a member of most of them.

Social media are as good and as bad as the people who use them.

i haven't used Instagram in a year, or any other social media platform other than this in forever. Reason being is because it's so negative and full of ragebait.
