If you post something and people view them but not give hearts, does it affect you and your friendship with them?

Curious about the way people's minds works.
It's funny, is it not? We already know other people's views on us don't really matter. But for many of us, those social media hearts is like a validation and a way of support, so it causes a bit of hurt when you don't get them. Why is that? How does it matter to you? And what do you do about it?

And no, I do not count Similar Worlds much for that question haha. In here, it does not matter. In here, the anonymity gives freedom. But other social media sites are different, because there, you're friends and family with the people around.

Eh, I'm anonymous on Facebook that I barely even use. I refuse to use my real name there. I only made an account when I learned there was games you could play.

I have 1 friend from another place I used to work at, and my offline friends brother are on my Facebook. Made a Twitter account to share my paper models I put together but haven't even been on that site in a good 2 years at least.

Social media is a scourge in my opinion and should be done away with. If this site is considered social media, I don't see that as I use this for the Yahoo answers replacement website.
