A lot of people are getting banned on fb and ig - meta allegedly fired a lot of the human mods; so a.i. polices it now mainly - I have seen posts saying people get banned for logging in and out too fast, following too many accounts or just commenting normal stuff and getting banned or suspended - it is weird

@GoldenOldie Seems like a few social medias are banning and restricting a lot more.
Even this one, there are some words that will cause posts to be hidden, ANY word synonymous to "not smart" and probably a lot of others.
But yeah if social media wants users, why would they be so quick to ban or make things difficult?
It is hard to believe right now but there may even come a day when social media doesn't exist or is extremely limited, like the common people won't be allowed to even post.
I am guessing what happened or IS happening - at one time they were of course "Data mining" and selling all our info to companies. Well now that they have just about everything, there isn't much reason to give people free access to upload countless selfies and other bull.
They got everyone's info, sold it to any company that wants to buy it, and there isn't much left to sell.
Just a speculation

@Punches Hmm all I can think of is; new user to harvest, changing people's attitudes to get them to buy different things, or vote differently, raise awareness of new products, brands and marketing, new data, political and marketing influencing. It will shift as its mass media and dominates the traditional news, so it has power still
IG is banning via bot-mods apparently to be cheap. They probably want to scrape off fakes to get rid of troll, catfish, and political bots who give the site a bad rep. I don't honestly know though
