Why is it so hard to talk here?

For a “social site” alot of people seem really antisocial, except for those with a circle of friends.

Yeah, I’ve been here a while on and off, but I don’t always see things I want to get involved in, but even when I do I’m not given much encouragement to continue doing so.

@DHggmu You can’t wait around for encouragement. You have to be proactive and persistent. Just keep showing up on threads and people will get to know you. But if you don’t see yourself doing that, and don’t see things you want to get involved in, then maybe this isn’t the right place for you. Unless, as I’ve said, you’re wanting to take more of an observer role.

@OlderSometimesWiser Definitely not here as an observer, and question why I am here often enough to not be here too. I try to get involved but just feel like I won’t find what I’m looking for from my experience. When I was on EP, the original SW, my experience was entirely different, so that’s where my expectations come from I guess.

@DHggmu Yep, having those expectations is probably not helping your situation. Different times, mostly different site. Gotta be able to make the best of the here and now and decide if there’s enough here to make it worthwhile staying.

@OlderSometimesWiser Good advice, there’s a reason that I’m active for months at a time before leaving, it’s a vicious cycle. Thank you.
