Anyone Miss MySpace

I liked the custom layouts, the graphics and how you could move everything and put it anywhere you wanted.

Spent so many hours customizing my profile. From the first song that would play to the first person I selected to be my top friend, from the overall theme of my page including the background image and even font, I wanted it all to reflect who I was. Was ridiculously too invested in its customization.

It was a lot of fun

Myspace gave us everything, even music on our pages but a politician bought it and everyone joined Facebook a site that was originally intended to ridicule college students.
akindheart · 61-69, F
yes my daughter was on that. she passed away in 2007. she didn't get to know IG or facebook. she would have loved it. her pics are still on myspace somewhere

I had a profile there but I didn't find it appealing. I was much more drawn to Last.fm and Youtube.
I was so mad when they deleted Youtube profiles out of the blue.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
Yeah, that's when Google bought it

I absolutely remember MySpace. It was more personal and you actually were able to make friends. Once Facebook became widely popular and people were leaving in droves, I just left the site.
Lostpoet · M
I do, but I actually get more attention on here than on that site. I remember studying HTML just so I could decorate my homepage.

Keep in mind MySpace came out in 1996 this website came out in 2000 something

It still exists but under a different name. It mostly focuses on music. It is still a pretty good site
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
The website is still up
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
I actually do. I really liked that platform in its earlier days.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
That means we are getting old
Fairydust · F
Yeah I can still see my old account.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
Can you still sign into it
Fairydust · F
@HumanEarth no just if I search my profile.
AceOfSpades · 36-40, M
Good memories of MySpace. Used to have games on mine.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
I never had mine own account. I just stole other peoples used for a day or two and moved on. I never changed their password. Just their whole layouts and design. I mean, I changed everything. Hacking MySpace was easy back then
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
To give you an idea, how easy it was. Their password was in the source code. So say you were at my house and used my computer back then. I would just go view web browser source code, and it would give me the password. That how weak MySpace security was back then.
AceOfSpades · 36-40, M
@HumanEarth thats funny. Passwords didnt need numbers or symbols back then either.
LilPrincess · 41-45, F
Never had an account there🙄
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
Neither did i, I just used everyone elses
I never used it

@Benjago Pretty sure everyone who visited my profile instantly turned their volume down so they wouldn’t have to listen to the Nickleback blaring from my playlist.
