How come on some posts, I see, this message has been deleted?

I only see it on other peoples posts, sometimes I'll see it on mine, but not that often. Sometimes I'll see, this message was deleted by its author. That makes me think the person who posted decided to delete it.

But then I'll see, this message was deleted. My guess on that is, someone posted, but it's a person I've blocked.
