Lady in distress heeelp. I have so many questions regarding how to use this site.

1. Can everyone use gifs in comments and messages? Or only VIP members? If everyone can use it. How does it work?

2. What is the Whiteboard meant for? And why do I get messages in there?

3. Can I mute the activity on other's posts? I currently get notifications anytime anyone else interacts where I have.

Anyone can post gifs but I'ma techno numpty so I can't tell you how.

Your whiteboard is a place other users can leave a message, leave tributes etc that's also visible to the rest of the site so it's public.

At the top of each post on the left hand side of your screen you should see a No notifications tab which should sort that for you.

I made a white board comment on myself 🤔 I thought it was for my notes that others could see.

@Queendragonfly You're most welcome, we do like to take the mick here, sorry no one helped you before.

Your whiteboard can be for whatever you want it to be but others can post on it and say hello or whatever as well as you being able to write on your own whiteboard, if you poke about others whiteboards you'll see what I mean.

And you can I think disable your whiteboard if you prefer not to use it.

When you open a comment or message you get this box:

GIFs and other types of pictures can be uploaded or linked in using the image tool on the far left of the toolbar above the message box:

You'd then click either UPLOAD IMAGE to upload GIFs directly from your computer or you'd click IMAGE LINK to paste in the 'https address' of a picture you want to use from another website.

You can also press the video link tool;

to link youtube, facebook and tiktok videos as well as vocaroo voice recordings and a few other popular video sites. x

1) Everyone can post gifs, you just need to find the link and post it like a picture (note, the ending of the .gif can sometimes really matter), but just generally go to the major gif websites like gipfy or tenor to get links

2) Whiteboard is a dinosaur, it's there because some like the old ways... but you and your friends can message back and forth there if y'all want.

3) Yes, there is a button above the question (at least on mobile) and you can adjust that.

Ok to solve you getting notifications every time some one else answers the same post you have you need to go to your Account Settings and find this section...

Make sure you've got Replies to my Activity ticked. Then you will only receive notifications when someone responds to your comments and not when someone just randomly answers the same post you have.

Whiteboard is a forgotten feature but someone may try to get your attention on there

Yes, click the notifications button at the top or untick receive notifications when replying

I saw a message in whiteboards, I made my own message there to myself too. 😂

How does it work to use gifs? I see no gif window.

I've found the options for notifications where I have interacted. But I might inactivate it completely if that's possible.
