As this forum has no central theme, it is bound to attract all demographs.
The good thing is that anyone can jump in and chat. The downside is one is not going to learn much.
To answer the question though - big websites are too crowded. Plus they are more likely to breathe down your neck trying to advertise.

@Punches There are plenty of people here with expertise or experience in various fields. Anyone can learn from them just by asking. But I think people are here mostly to socialise, and perhaps argue. A bit like 'real' life.
