If I remember correctly, the Lions are one of four NFL teams never to make it to a Superbowl. If I'm wrong I'll have to look into that.

The NFL championship. LOL - btw, Rote won the AFL championship for the Chargers franchise in 1963 - the city's only major championship in any sport.

Even the Super Bowl wasn't the super Bowl until its 3rd year.

Irony here - the last championship won by the Lions was accomplished by the leadership of a former Packers' QB: Tobin Rote in 1957
