What happened Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys? I am not a Dallas Cowboys fan at all. But....

But ever since we found out the Dallas Cowboys were playing the Green Bay Packers in the first NFC playoff game; we heard how great Dallas was and how everyone said the Dallas Cowboys were going to destroy the Green Bay Packers. So, what happened to your awesome sauce and greatness Dallas?

Another season of hype and BS just like Tony Romo was your quarterback getting slain in the playoffs!

They are just not a very good football team. Their coach allows the team to be undisciplined and hence their many penalties throughout the year.

They beat up on bad teams and lost to most good teams. Offensively they have a quarterback who is great at accumulating stats but rarely plays well in the important games. They basically have one above average wide receiver and their offensive line is not as good as advertised.

Their defense is a paper tiger and could easily be run upon and they became exposed as the year progressed.

I saw this coming, the NFC East has become a joke. The Cowboys stumbled down the stretch and beat an awful Redskins team minus six of their defensive starters in their last game. This was supposed to be a big deal?

I have been following the Cowboys basically for fifty years. Ever since Jimmy Johnson left they have become a joke. The Prescott Elliot era has been highly touted but dearth of results. Time to start over again.

Their fans need to stop buying into hype. McCarthy is a terrible at clock management and had an awful game plan against a very good young Packers team. Love outplayed Prescott. Nobody came up big for Dallas and bully teams often play bad from behind against quality teams.

This team quit on their coach when they got down three touchdowns. I am a Cowboys fan but have learned not to drink the Kool Aid. They will never win a Super Bowl with McCarthy or Prescott….

@therighttothink50 You perfectly answered what I was getting at, thank you.

You guys suffered the same thing during the Tony Romo era too.

Again, being a non-Dallas fan myself (Pittsburg Steelers fan) I just had to ask this question because I was so tired of the week before dissing of Green Bay and writing them off as if Dallas was some super team when they are not.

Again, thank you for the most real life and honest assessment and answer of Dallas as a fan of Dallas.

Much respect.

@therighttothink50 The top-scoring offense and defense in the league suddenly choke, along with the Eagles; the same year, FAN DUEL comes aboard, and the officiating goes in the toilet. Conspiracy theories abound

Good teams have a defense which becomes better as the year progresses, this team’s defense regressed. Where was the pass rush? Non existent.

Super Bowl teams do two things well on defense, stop the run and have big time pass rushers. Where have you gone Charles Haley, Randy White and Ed Too Tall Jones? The Packers converted on third down at will where Prescott failed to deliver on the other side of the ball.

This defense was pathetic Sunday.

And the offense was stopped cold when it counted.

“HERE WE GO,” they never went….. :)
Unfortunately, QBs have bad games and Dak was "off" in the 1st half.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@BizSuitStacy And the defense where were they the whole game?

The offense only got going under Green Bays 2nd string Defense!
@WillaKissing yep...that's the other half of the equation. Didn't see much defense from any of the NFC teams yesterday. It was practically a day off for the punters.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@BizSuitStacy Ah, Green Bays first string defense would have to throw the replay flag on that statement for the first half.
Texas native (and childhood Cowboys fan) RB Aaron Jones of the Packers owns the Cowboys, and currently has the career record for most rushing yardage per game against the Cowboys in Cowboys history.

Also the defense (like a lot of NFL defenses) are set up to stop the pass, and so Packers ran the ball down their throats until the pass opened up.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@sstronaut That is called proper coaching and play execution by the players, Right! Break the opponent down with the run to open up the pass and to thoroughly beat them.

Sorry you have had two such Quarterbacks and defenses between Romo and Prescott in a row. I wonder at this pace how close Dallas is to taking over the record Detroit just broke with no playoff victories?
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
A talented team that has underachieved. I think the head coach is going to get canned. McCarthy can't win in the playoffs.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@HoraceGreenley They did a close up after the game. He looked awful.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Adogslife I saw it. He looked sick.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@HoraceGreenley I played team sports including football. When you have that much talent at that level of play, they should have been able to out play their coaching/coach. Thats' why they are professionals and paid to be.

I understand McCarthy is not a top tier coach as well.

As far as Jerry Jones goes, we all age and leave this world a different time and ways and should not get a sendoff Super Bowl winning team just because you're getting close. I wish him many more years of wellness, but the owners health has nothing to do with what a team earns as a victory or loss.

We would all like to know. The worst choke in NFL history.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@TexChik Well, you all have the Houston Texans in the AFC running pulling off their own upset of the Browns.
TexChik · F
@WillaKissing Yeah but that's Houston. The Cowboys are in town with me ! Its a bad day at black rock around here!
WillaKissing · 56-60
@TexChik Sorry, I am a Steelers fan and with three turnovers for us (Steelers) I feel the season is over too.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
There could be two reasons in my opinion.

1. They don't have their own refs.

2. The Green Bay Packers knows their former coach very well.
@FreestyleArt Only like four players on the Packers played for the McCarthy. And they killed the defense.
3Dogmatic · 46-50, M
It’s a scientific fact that if Dallas did t suck so hard, Galveston would fall off into the Gulf of Mexico…
WillaKissing · 56-60
@3Dogmatic Not sure what you were meaning, but bye bye Galveston Island enjoy your float to the Caribbean.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
So, Belichick or Vrabel?
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@HoraceGreenley No way a Belichick team goes into a playoff game unprepared. The hype alone would pay his salary and more.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Adogslife
That's 100% true
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Adogslife That all boils down to Jerry Jones decision.
