I bought a football team
... Sort of.
First things first. The tops of my thighs are killing me. I thought I was fit running 5 and 10k pretty regularly. But I played football for the first time in over 30 years yesterday evening and God my thighs! Must be all the starting stopping change of direction.
Anyhoo I was playing as my bfs new team, an amalgamation of two teams from last year, wanted a try out game and were a couple of players short. So one other gf (early 20s, disgustingly pretty with the longest legs known to man, blonde etc etc 🙄) and yours truly were drafted in to make up numbers. She squealed and giggled and had various "accidental" body contacts with various guys while I was lectured that you have to tackle the ball not the other players shins. It's not like rugby 🤷🏼♀
After the game we adjourn to a pub where the player /coach /manager dude lays out plans for the season. One bone of contention was the cost of the pitch. They have to pay to the league each week to stay in the competition. Last year there were some issues, mostly from the side my bf didn't play in before.
I ask "How much, how often, how do you pay it?". So I agreed to pay for the foreseeable future. There is a conversation about putting my name on their shirts as a sponsor 🤣🤣🤣
Where's that Wrexham documentary...
