@deadgerbil We had a dysfunctional attack. It's been the same all tournament, aside from 45 minutes against the Netherlands. When Spain was on top, we couldn't counter them, which invited more pressure. England needed a long range shot to equalise and our best other chance was from a corner.
The defense played well in the first half but the quality of Spanish possession meant that the pressure was always going to tell and it did.
Spain had more control of the game and more chances. We made a game of it through sheer grit but ultimately we can't have complaints.
