When is a red card not a red card

When FIFA bends the knee to Trump during the football World Cup and suspends a red card decision for a USA player.
Red cards are given to players during a game because that player committed a dangerous or unsportsmanlike foul during the game that could result in player injury or harm.
The decision to uphold the ban is FIFAs alone unless FIFA is run by corrupt people.

Sweetie, I understand where you're coming from but as there's been so many very inaccurate let's call them 'standards' in what the refs and linesmen have been doing throughout.....and looking at the carding - the player was looking for the ball and trying to ground himself, not knowing where the other player, or his foot, was.

My thoughts? Not intentional. Yellow card? Yeah, let's go with that.

What are your own thoughts on the France vs Paraguay game? 3 cards, all against the French and yet at the very least 6 Paraguay players should have been carded/sent off for dangerous and very unsporting behaviour.

The USA are looking after their own. It was an inaccurate carding. End of.

@justanothername Just do see it. I have never, in all my years - which aren't many at 28 - seen such blatant disregard of the rules, of good sportsmanship and of just dangerous moves!

Shocking, sweetie...shocking!

😘

@CassandraSissy I know that a lot of the referee decisions through the World Cup have been of varying consistency.
Waveney · M
@CassandraSissy it was not an inaccurate carding. It was harsh, but not inaccurate.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Why do you think it was Trump? There is major debate if the card was appropriate considering the replays.

@justanothername Like I what?

@RedBaron Your OP.

@justanothername Aaron Parnas is a highly questionable source:

Aaron Parnas is a widely followed, highly curated news influencer and lawyer whose credibility is viewed with mixed opinions.

While many users view him as a fast, accurate source for quick political updates, critics argue he is an aggregator, not an investigative reporter, and uses sensationalism to build an audience

Only a Republican would dismiss Aaron Parnas as a credible source

@Waveney While I completely agree that this mess is of Trump’s own making, the team could still have done the honourable thing and kept Balogun on the bench. They chose not to take that moral high road…
Waveney · M
@Markmywurdz No. I disagree. This is sport and you can't just throw away your shot at glory just because you disagree with a decision. Besides, there was nothing illegal in what happened. The governing body, however corruptly, overturned the decision.

Anyway, it doesn't matter now. It's over, they're out, and let's hope like hell that this never happens again. The only sad thing now is that Trump, again, has made everything about him and has tainted the tournament.
Markmywurdz · 61-69, M
@Waveney In the circumstances, a US win would have been a tainted victory at best. But yes, let’s all hope such a thing doesn’t happen again.

Do you have a link?

@mindless Look it up on Google.

more about how the Whitehouse caused FIFA to overturn the refs decision, this from the Wall Street Journal, that ultra left wing paper, NOT!:

It’s all over now and just doesn’t matter anymore. 🤷‍♂
Waveney · M
@RedBaronAdmittedly yes

I apologize for my misstatement. I just read this report. I am profoundly embarrassed by POTUS

I am no fan of Trump, but I seriously doubt you have any credible source for this accusation.

And no, Aaron Parnas is not an investigative reporter and thus not a credible primary source.
Waveney · M
@RedBaron I’m not angry, I’m just amazed at the corruption
Markmywurdz · 61-69, M
@Waveney and the stratospheric level of denial being exhibited by @RedBaron
RedBaron · M
@Markmywurdz I’m not denying anything. It’s all happening as described.

I just don’t believe repeatedly posting about it on a website will change anything, unfortunately.
