@Burnley123 Iran is the highest rated Asian team. If the US team keeps it up, we have a chance. I think Team England may have played as hard as they should, too much confidence.

@Northwest It's a strange game. England hammered Iran. Iran beat Wales. Wales drew with the USA. The USA drew with England. This is a relatively unpredictable sport and that is one of its strengths.
I still think the USA will go through against Iran in a narrow tense game. I am not sure you will go deep in the tournament tbh. England can but we need to find another gear.

Well, I think in overall the US was the better team.
Defense is holding nicely. The worst problem is going from midfield to frontline. Because there is a lot of ball loss there with bad passing and poor ball handeling.
You have to respect them, cause they are deff. not parking the buss against a team that on paper is just better. And they put up a high block. And there are always 3 guys lurking to go into offense or put pressure on the defensive line of England when they get the ball.
... but, I'm so curious in the 2nd half. Because this costs a lot of energy. And last game they just couldn't keep it up.

@Kwek00 The US team is not elite level yet. They could become a world football power but (as you say) don't quite have the quality. Their keeper is the second choice and Arsenal (England's third choice is keeping him on the bench). I saw Josh Sergeant play at Turd Moor a month ago and he hardly got a kick against the Burnley defence.
They have a strong midfield though. They are organised and committed. They deserve to go through to the next round but If England has ambitions to go deep in the contest, then we need to raise our level.

@Burnley123 Well, England was dissapointing. But part of why they were dissapointing is because the US just played a solid game. They kept putting pressure, they were always ready to go into the attack and put pressure on the ball. And England just couldn't deal with it. If the US parked the bus, England would have had a way easier time. But england was more defensive in this game then the US. Because in the second half, 9 guys went all the way back in defense. The US defended with 7 players and 3 waiting midfield to start the attack or keep the pressure.

@Kwek00 The US had a mid-block (not a low block) and an intense middle-third press. England turned up like they were expecting Iran part 2 and were dealt a problem they had no answer too. Though they did improve after the (too late) subs came on. It's a wake-up call.

England had a good end to the half but were second best overall. They need to move the ball quicker. American midfield definitely superior with far more willingness to take the game on with driving runs and quick passing. Only poor finishing and bad luck has kept it level though Kane should have done better with his chance too

With little possession, England did have some chances due to attacking quality but it's not good enough.
In midfield, the US is pressing well and it's made it hard work to play through. Conversely, England's press has been lazy and disorganised. I think we went into this overconfident.

@caesar7 At 70 minutes, the US team ran out of energy and was sitting back for a draw. England could have won it at that point though that would have been underserved.
