A&M is squealing because they believe it will harm their recruiting in the state. Most blue chip Texas boys like Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Alabama.
UT and Oklahoma are going to be in the SEC, the money is just too good for both sides. The big 10 is going to combine with conference America supposedly. There will be 3 super conferences where the lions share of media money goes to the SEC. The smaller programs with be given some of that NCAA money to keep college football alive in smaller schools.
