Weed experts unite, why does it taste so bad?

It's legal to buy in Canada, I just got some online but it's so freaking nasty. It tastes like gas or chemicals. Does anyone know why?

My neighbour grows it and at times it smells like skunk. I don`t bother with it any more, I did enough of it in my younger days.

@Degbeme Skunk is fine to me, it's natural. This just awful, like gasoline or plastic.
