How would you rank drugs, in order from tamest to “hardest”?

@dale74 My oldest brother and numerous paternal second cousins, and one direct younger paternal cousin, have been addicted to cocaine, I have personally seen its effects, it's up there with heroin in its addictive hold and mental damage to the brain and physical damage to the body

@dale74 From the first hit you chase that high. It wears off quickly. It's not like alcohol, you can go to work the next day.

@Zeuro Meth is made with drain cleaner, battery acid, lye, antifreeze, etc. That will eat your teeth away.

@Pitchblue but you’re not actually consuming drain cleaner and battery acid lye antifreeze etc., the resulting synthesized chemical is just methamphetamine. Like sodium and chlorine are both horribly deadly for you but no one’s gonna argue that therefore it’s dangerous to consume table salt. Of course that’s not to say that meth isn’t problematic for your body but it’s not the same as consuming the ingredients used to make it

@Pitchblue I'm not defending the use of meth, but lye is used to chemically peel fruits and vegetables and used to make pretzels, not to mention soap. Both Sulfuric acid ("Battery acid") and hydrochloric acid are used to make Morphine and probably a bunch of other prescription drugs. If there's lye in the meth it's because the folks making shake and bake aren't chemist and probably didn't even bother measuring anything. In other words it's not the chemicals themselves, it's a quality control problem.
