"I'm as single as a dollar and I don't need change."

Looking at a message I received I mistakenly thought it was the start of an introduction and interesting conversation, but it said,
"So why are you single?"
No "Hello, my name is.." ect.
So I text back, "Are you?"
No reply.

Truth is - I like being single. Why is the assumption that any adult, particularly women without a partner is somewhat odd or unfulfilled?

Singles do not have to succumb to the hot seat of shame when asked why we are still single whether we’re open to a relationship, have no interest at all, or are somewhere in between.

Hmm. Wonder why he didn't answer? 🤔
I love my single life although I would appreciate having a best male friend to do things with once in awhile but other than that, I love my freedom. Having someone try to control me all the time is never the way I would want my life. And I don't believe in controlling whoever comes into my life, either. It is a free world and it should stay that way. When you love someone you don't want to control them. You just want to encourage and support them.

@LadyGrace I agree, a relationship is a two way thing, respect should be is mutual.
@Callisto yes especially respect for each other. Cuz when you respect each other and be each other's best friend, you won't want to hurt that other person or fight and argue with them. There won't be any need for a fight because there will be good communication when you treat each other as you should. That would save so many marriages if people would just show each other respect. There's no need for yelling.

Being single has probably more advantages than being in a relation, at least that is how I feel about being single.

And you have plenty of alternatives to those bloody jars that even guys have a hard time opening.

People make it seem like it's a disease sometimes lol. I enjoy the freedom really
@Mudkip Me too. It's so much better than being controlled. It's really lovely.
Mudkip · 31-35, M
@LadyGrace yeah, just feels good having that freedom

Being single can get dull after a number of decades.

Just saying.

Not that I would start any conversation that way.

As to why no reply back, could be a number of reasons. Possibly got busy with something.

The meme I can relate to though! 😆

Often I forget to eat. For me that's dangerous. Especially since no one is around to remind me to eat.

@DeWayfarer Maybe, he just seems very odd on his profile.
I love cooking so I make sure I eat!
It's best to try and have kids before 35 if a woman- a woman finding a financially capable man is much easier than a finacially capable man finding a breeding age woman. Ideally before 35 for a man as well, but it is harder for men as we don't get chased by women as much and can't get knocked up.

I too like being single. I have come to enjoy being alone almost too much. There's nothing wrong with being single. With the way dating is nowadays, it's a wise choice. It's nice to have the freedom to choose.

I wanted to laugh because of the meme, hr the rest of your post was not a joke.
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@Callisto having been single for a long time - I know exactly what you’re talking about. I had female cousins who wondered if we (me and two brothers) were gay because none of us had a girlfriend.
Callisto · 31-35, FNew
@Ambroseguy80 The assumptions never cease to amaze!
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@Callisto exactly. They were wrong. 😉

Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M

Callisto · 31-35, FNew
@Strictmichael75 Oh, there's plenty of change.
