I decided to stay home, and am ending up caring for an elderly parent, and just don't see how i could live alone even let alone with anyone else, which means that alone will be difficult in the sense of getting essentials using a Taxi and so forth, calling businesses to get things fixed, paying the bills, being responsible.

If at the age of i dunno 55 or so and i succeed at being responsible and meet someone then, well maybe, but highly unlikely.

@SW-User It is responsible to take care of your parents and help them.

Your life isn't any less responsible than my own or anyone else's.

@Miram TY, but that's just part and parcel with living here, he and my brother take care of everything else, oh i'm gonna need my bro when living alone.

@SW-User I'm 55 and have been single for 6 years. I've explained my story a bunch of times as to why, but my focus is being the best dad I can to my almost 7 y/o daughter and women must accept both of us or they do not deserve me in their life.

We will always need others and it is okay. I am relying on you right now in a way. It is inevitable no matter how detached we tend to be.

When it comes to how I see dependency, I am very much a realist, struggling with an ego shaped by abandonment. It is difficult to accept help when you grew up with wolves and can't trust others to see you as anything other than their next meal.

I met good people I could/can count on later in life and had to learn to bond. I wasn't born with a good healthy heart and though I am doing great and lead an active life, I will eventually need more help and company to keep the same life style. And I should be more open to the care I am offered by loved ones.

It is smart to accept one's limitations with grace and focus on better ways to experience existence than the conventional. We all are here just trying to find peaceful journeys that grant us purpose. Never look down on your own. When we let others help us too, we are helping them just as much. It's mutual growth.
