Hello wtfgirl001. "Lets give it time and we'll see" is more realistic at the very beginning of a relationship when you are first getting to know someone than after a disappointing break up. "Wait and see" reflects the reality that nothing in life is certain except death and taxes and the best way to find out if something will work or not is to give a go and see for yourself. Disappointment is created by unrealistic hopes or expectations and suggests that you did not really know your friend as well as you thought you did. "Lets see what happens" is nice to begin with but too much disappointment suggests that this may not be the relationship for you. Like it or not, some things are just not meant to be. So, how's it going after 2 weeks?

@will999 It's going well because there are no expectations of what "it" should be. He's living his life, I'm living mine. And we're both happy.

Do you really want that to happen?

@wtfgirl001 that sounds like a "very grown, intellectual" decision.
