Should Have Known Better Than To Buy A Watermelon At Wal-Mart Earlier This Week…

@Crazywaterspring the produce is mostly good at Winco. Lately Aldi has had some nasty looking broccoli for sale. It is starting to yellow about half the time.

@Penny I used to work at the store where I bought this one. I think it’s because the manager waits till stuff starts to get bad, then he marks them down. I should have known better. I usually shop at the other ones but this one is near my house.

@Azlotto and bananas are a crap shoot too…buy them green and they either ripen quickly or take 3 weeks. I think some of them are actually plantains that have been mislabeled.

@Lilnonames I get bread at Aldi or Winco and they are good for a lot longer than what Walmart sells. Pitiful that a corporation that big does this stuff. Their store brands of things like canned fruit & veggies don’t measure up in quality to Aldi’s store brands. I found that out with peas, peaches and fruit cocktail. And their GV brand of pasta in boxes is short in weight of what they claim and you can weigh it on different scales and come up short, including their produce scales. Weigh it in the box (the box is not supposed to be included in the weight) and it is still less than what they show on the boxes. I’ve done it with several boxes after reading what a woman posted on another site.
