It won't take too long. Already one company which used to email me daily has gone. Their prices had gone way up, which probably explains it.

@4meAndyou I am getting a lot of Emails from Temu, haven’t counted but at least 6 a day for discounts and other such things. I don’t know why they are raising their prices. If they are shipping directly from China you would be billed for the tariffs and have to pay for them when you pick up the package at the post office. Now if the site has local shipper then the tariffs will be included. I know Temu has quite a few local shippers but the majority of their items are direct shipping. Local stores like Walmart, Target, Harbor Freight etc are going to have to raise their prices so high that most customers won’t be buying nearly as much. They sell a huge amount of holiday decor and I would imagine such things will not sell well. People will probably concentrate on more practical things that they have to get for daily life. And even then it may be a lot less costly to buy used or to borrow something if you are need it short term

@cherokeepatti Temu has stopped sending me emails altogether...but then I rarely ordered anything from them.

@4meAndyou Some are saying that they are stopping the ads on You Tube as well. They have to pay for those.

Shein, certainly, has major markets in both the UK and the EU - I doubt they'll go bust without the US sales.

@ArtieKat Have seen in a video where factory owners are giving their employees a “vacation” and closing down their factories. Also read that cargo ships are piling up and not leaving
I say good riddance to those companies...get rid of Amazon too while we are at it
uikakarotuevegeta · 26-30
@catastrophecarnival do you not realize many businesses, governments, and non-profits rely on AWS for their server infrastructure, which is a subsidiary owned and operated by Amazon? so i guess let's say goodbye to many entities you depend on for your goods and services in your daily life
uikakarotuevegeta · 26-30
And I'm aware that other cloud computing platforms exist, but even with their combined total market share can't even touch AWS' as Amazon was an early adopter with both quality and quantity; Microsoft has been catching up in recent years with more adoption of Azure, but they still can't touch Amazon

Oh Shein is so cheap
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@nobodyishome the price will more than double with tariffs added

I hope soon as it will be good for young people but drive the perverts crazier.

@KingofBones1 if you have electronics, toys, shoes, bikes, medicine, appliances, cars, or solar panels, chances are it's fully or partially made in China
KingofBones1 · 46-50, M
@uikakarotuevegeta as is everything nowadays even paper
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@KingofBones1 I’ve bought books and learned after they arrived that they were printed in China, the ink on those books smells horrible.
