My niece wants a pair of UGG slippers

But I have a hard time justifying paying so much when I know that the inner fuzz will get nasty within months. It looks hard to clean and I don't think it would be the same anyway if you tried.

Am I right in thinking this? Someone lmk if you have a pair and how they hold up haha

My nephew also wanted ugg slippers, so my dad bought him some other brand that looked the same but was like $12, and told him if he stayed on honor roll with his next report card he’d get him the ugg brand. I think that was just a way for my dad to see if he’d still want them in 6 weeks. My nephew ended up liking the off brand and doesn’t want the uggs anymore.
I did the prime try before you buy for new boots and tried a couple pairs of uggs and I wasn’t impressed

I love that style boot because it's so cozy but honestly bear paw is a bit cheaper and just as good. I have had one pair of actual uggs and yeah bear paw may even be more durable, I had them longer than the uggs. Also I always get black so I cant speak for the fur much. My uggs were the only tan pair I've owned and they did get dirty fast and I didn't take the time to properly clean so probably was a waste of money there.

@Notsimilarreally I saw the bear paws and then...that other brand that says it's by UGG. I might get those first to see. Or wait her out until she fixates on something else she has to have 🤣

@SwampFlower totally. I saw a clip of a mom dealing with a child that really wanted something pricey, and she was like "if you really still want it in a month we can talk about it for your birthday". Kid wanted something else then. Lol

@Notsimilarreally that is really common lol. Something else will be trendy by her birthday lol

I have a pair of UGG slippers. Tell her she needs to wear socks with them every time. You can throw them in the machine, but the soles don't always get clean.

I have them, lmao. You need to wash them in the washing machine and only use them in your bedroom.

No, I didn't buy them. My brother is in the military somewhere else and has lived most of his life in the military. He has no shopping skills but it is the gesture which counts. He buys me useless things all the time during his travels, and a few useful ones.

@Miram I bet you look so cute in them 😍

Lol I love that he bought you uggs though.

I concur with @Miram. It's a slipper. You don't want to be caught dead wearing those about town.

I've never understood their appeal
Convivial · 26-30, F
If it says they're UGG brand they're imitations..
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@Convivial What do you mean?
Convivial · 26-30, F
@SwampFlower the original UGG boots were Australian, been around since the late 60s... Several years back an American company took out a world wide patent on the name and started manufacturing them.

I don't know the quality of them but I know the originals last for years... But best to wear socks to stop sweat stuffing up the cool lining

Must have made in Australia for real Ugg
