Costco Rotisserie Chicken now in a Bag and not a Plastic Tray???

What was Costco thinking?? Their rotisserie chicken is now packaged in a plastic bag and not the plastic tray & cover. Just picked one up today and the outside of the plastic bag was greasy. The guy packaging the chickens said it was a corporate decision to save money. I had to put the bagged chicken in another bag from the meat department to keep the chicken juice/grease from making everything in my cart greasy. The guy at the checkout even said that this was the worse change he has ever seen. When we got home and opened the plastic bag, the chicken skin, which is normally crispy and very tasty, was kinda soft and mushy ... not appetizing at all. Yea, I know, crispy chicken skin isn't good for anyone, but it is tasty. Hopefully, Costco management will rethink this decision....

The reason could be to reduce the amount of hard plastic used.
Suggest a better alternative?
Write to them and let them know about the grease and the soft, mushy skin. Also let them know you will no longer be purchasing their rotisserie chicken.
They will see that their decision will lose them money.
How will they know unless people complain?

@Gusman already did that a few days ago...no response yet

Cutting corners and lowering the quality to save money.
If corporate is actually capitulating and attempting to be environmentally friendly by not using plastics, I offer a genius comment..,
Yes a corporate decision ( money makers) to save a few bucks. Rest assured those decision makers aren’t buy/ eating their own products.

I hate when companies make changes for the worst

It’s been in a bag for a while, at least where I live
That crispy skin is the best best from the breast.
Hopefully, Costco management will rethink this decision

😂 Never happen. That would be admitting corporate made a mistake.
Kind of like the SW feed debacle.

Hatevthe bags but it might be one of those new laws about plastic
We don't have limits on plastic in the food, so whatever!
I've noticed everyone is doing stuff like that.☹️

Gross and no. I don't need grease all over my car too

There are bigger issues to deal with in life.

Might be new environmental laws

It look like a combination of cost-cutting and recycle-ability

(The cynic in me supposes that Costco is probably getting all kinds of tax write-offs for it, too, though that hasn’t come up in the reporting that I’ve read…) @Patriot96

That's gross
You probably want to tell them and not us. Not much wet can do about it.
I agree with you on this 110% !
