Anyone here have prescription sunglasses?

I stopped wearing /buying contacts a few years ago. Now I can never wear my sunglasses in the summer b/c I have my glasses on. Then it dawned on me; they make prescription sunglasses!! I would be willing to buy some b/c I do want and need them. Anyone have any here? Do they have certain styles only or a varied selection? Are they the same price as regular Rx glasses?

I stopped wearing contacts after high school. I currently have three pairs of glasses. Two with my distance prescription (one of them darkens in the sun) and one for working on computers (doesn't have my distance prescription).

The darkening ones are the best! They were expensive, but so worth it.

I actually have a fourth pair but they aren't traditional glasses. They are sport lenses that look more like swim goggles than glasses. They are permanently dark and have an elastic to go around my head.

So, to your questions... Tons of styles available. Generally more than regular Rx glasses because you have to pay for the tinting.

Under or over the ponytail? 🤔

How comes? 😮 I hope not because of developing an intolerance or anything like that

@Degbeme Lol, great question actually. Could be either way, but I generally wesr a high pony tail when I wear one so the strap for the sport glasses goes below the pony. 👍

@sladejr Not last time I checked! 🤣

@Elessar In high school, wearing contacts was mostly (for me) a pain-in-the-ass vanity thing. I'm more active then the average person and contacts were always just a pain to deal with.

@sarabee1995 Precisely because you're active they should be a lot less troublesome than glasses!

@Elessar For me it was the opposite. 🤷‍♀️

@sarabee1995 Wait, you go running with the glasses on? The shaking alone, plus the continuous fogging, would get on my nerves too much. 😅 Let alone when swimming..

In my case it was a matter of finding the right brand and right model. A lot of lenses I tried felt like having a piece of a plastic bag in the eyes, these American ones I'm using now are so comfortable that I even forget I have them on!

@Elessar Glasses can be strapped to the head quite easily and quite comfortably. Contacts can irritate the eyes.

Do you use eye drops of any kind?? I do not. Don't need them anymore.

@sarabee1995 They'd still fog. I sweat a lot when doing P.E. 🙈

Absolutely not! With these ones short for the 15-30 seconds I spend in the morning to put them in and the 15-30 seconds in the night to remove them, it's 100% like having nothing on (and perfect vision 😁)
