Gillette went on n a tear against men a couple years ago. Their commercials on TV and various other ads aggressively framed all men as perpetrators of wrongful or terrible acts. It was called “toxic masculinity. I stopped buying their products and have not looked back. Haven’t noticed much from them since.

I've seen enough damage done by toxic masculinity that I applauded the ads. It didn't apply to me or my 3 boys because we don't do that. If you think it framed 'all men' then I don't think you were paying attention.
"We believe in the best in men." "We need to hold other men accountable. To say the right thing, to act the right way. Some already are."
That's not framing all men as toxic. Which bit didn't you understand?

@Angelogaggi Respect people. Treat women with respect. Don't resort to violence to solve problems.

Buy your razors at a dollar store. Brand names cost too much.
@SW-User Not good advice for everyone, but if it works for you, cool.

Thank you to everyone for voting and commenting. It’s clear I made the right choice by buying alternatives. As for Gillette, they can keep on staying woke and going broke!
@sdave455 You’re proud of boycotting a company for deciding to promote respecting women. That’s the bottom line here.
I never understood why those recent commercials bothered any men who had women in their lives that they cared about. The funny thing is, at one point Gillette used to have some really sexist commercials towards women. And I’d assumed this was them trying to make up for that.

Stop trying to support a cause through consumerism. I use what works best. That's it. Just use what you know performs best for you.

I hear that Gillette was having staffing issues during covid. They had to call in Schick.

their stuff is garbage anyways, all this multi bladed, chinese made razors, refills that cost a fortune, etc.... ridiculous.

all catered to soyboys with peach fuzz

I'm a masculine man, I have real facial hair, I'll stick to my quality german made straight razor and safety razor...

I can't let my mach 3 go. Sorry. Seems like a small controversy anyway.
@Jessmari Basically what they were promoting was a departure from hating women. Not sure why either sex would have a problem with that.

@bijouxbroussard oh I get it and understand the intension. I have no issue with it. I think it was also kind of trendy at the time as well.

Razor still works great though. 🤷‍♀️
@Jessmari They make a great product. 👍🏽

I'm a toxic male. I don't use Gillette products. I don't shave. I haven't bought a razor since I left the Armed Forces in the early 80s.
I like fusion razors. However i was curious about straight razors which is used for shaving head

i found that shaving products can easily be bought cheap off brand... no problems
amourj · 26-30, M
Wait? Where is this? I haven't heard of such a thing
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
