What is depression like?

How would you know if you are depress or just stress?

You lose interest in everything you once enjoyed doing. For myself, because it's clinical depression, I don't have a specific thing which causes it; sometimes, I just feel an overwhelming sadness. The best way I can describe mine is the regular zest and energy I have for life disappears..

Feeling worthless,a failure,nobody loves you,nobody cares,its like a dark cloud has descended over your head and it just stays there you cant see any love,light or hope for the future,its a never ending feeling of hopelessness...then one day it just lifts and you have that one good day and you realise all those negative feelings were just your mind playing tricks with you...anyone with depression needs to be reminded there is love,light and hope on the other side 💖

@SW-User yes i agree..healing from depression can take time,its all about doing those things that makes us feel better about ourselves

For myself it's feeling worthless, sad, confused and helpless.
I have no energy to do anything, nothing makes me feel good, not even self pleasure.
It's a feeling of not belonging to the world not understanding why I'm having these issues and not knowing how to stop it.

They can be really similar and they are related. I have depression and stress makes it worse.

What we are going through globally is pretty unprecedented. We have all been stressed for so long I think a lot of people are developing depression who otherwise wouldn't have. I know it has made my depression much more difficult to manage.

Are you incessantly thinking of ways to kill yourself

Is the first thought every time you wake up that you hadn't. Are minutes and hour excruciatingly long but days and weeks fly bye in moments without anything ever being accomplished? It can could be depression

The strange thing about depression is that it can convince you that its not depression even though it is.

And then you start thinking that there is nothing better to life, so you start to look for a way to end it.

They often go hand in hand. If you're waking up remembering the pain immediately it's probably depression. If that's the case please reach out to people.
