I love being outside in the middle of the night at this time of year
The night air after midnight is cooler and more inviting than the day. Most of the world is asleep and the lack of human activity is refreshing.
The night insects are singing and animals are out searching for food. Or mates.
I feel like my senses become stronger. More animal like? I see very well in the dark.
And the moon....The sun is glorious. The sun is Life. But you don't dare look on the face of the sun. You appreciate the sun for the way it dazzles the water, dances among the trees and the warmth on your skin. But never look it in the eye.
But the moon, she welcomes you to stare into her. She dares you to look into her depths and draw her light inside you.
There are some low black puffy clouds tonight leftover from last night's storm. They're hanging so low the street light lights are illuminating the bottoms, giving the sky an unearthly fantasy feel.
