People on both sides are so sanctimonious these days that it's not easy to tell who has the more delicate sensibilities. If I had to wager, I'd say it's more true on the right simply due to the way conservative brains tend to be structured. On average, self-identified conservatives have a much larger and more active amygdalas than those of self-identified liberals.
Just how much that larger amygdala impacts the brains of right-wingers is still not completely clear, but it is linked to higher sensitivity to perceived threats and increased negative reactivity
