so many lonely people and no idea how to meet them

with loneliness becoming an increasingly problematic epidemic, how do we address it?

There are probably lots of 'event' type things you could organize.
Everything from coffee mornings to creche's to rambling groups to book/history/gardening clubs etc.
But i don't think that gets to the heart of it.

The covid restrictions many countries placed on their populace illustrated that it was possible to isolate and separate people from everything they used to have some control over.
And i think governments have exploited that post covid by actively encouraging the financial crisis we all now find ourselves caught up in.

'The great reset'. - A 'philosophical' idea that covid was 'created' and planned by huge corporations around the world, the aim of which was (supposedly) to get it's workforces miserable and prepared to work harder for (the equivalent) of 'less' in real terms, while said corporations took control of everything from drug production to the massive expansion of online shopping while at the same time, making it impossible for high street stores to compete, to dull television and ever more restrictive laws on what can and can't be said/posted in online forums
Effectively creating the ultimate 'captive audience'.with no choice but to deal directly with their companies as consumer rights recede further into the background of relevance since what we call 'government' was bought and paid for long before now, and has no interest in protecting it's 'voters' from anything.

May sound like conspiracy theory b/s.....but has more than a grain of truth in it

Society is broken on purpose. It makes more money for the corporations when we are all in our individual plastic bubble.

So with that in mind break out any way you can and speak to strangers in unlikely places and keep it up till someone talks back and needs what you need too.

Turning off the computer and taking a long walk in the park may be a first step.

@helenS I would end up more alone that way.

@PleasurePunch That doesn't sound right. There's gotta be a change, a change in your life, I think.

"Golden Eye", AKA financially reset the world, so we have money to buy things and do stuff
