I Am Lonely

Some days I feel like I’m completely alone, even when I’m surrounded by loved ones. I isolate when I’m lonely, which only makes matters worse. I have an amazing boyfriend that I keep at a distance. What’s the point in continuing a relationship that can only be kept superficial? I don’t let anyone in.

I don't allow anyone close to me either, but it is unwise, really. We cannot reasonably hope to avoid making mistakes and being hurt. It is better to embrace life

@DanielChristensen How can we do that when we fear being seen? I’d love to be able to open up but I freeze every time someone starts getting too close.

@Nobodysfool I know, it is such an impasse. I have the same problem. It's easy to say be brave and other platitudes, but another animal to actually do it. Once bitten, more than twice shy
