So, the idea of illegal undercover operations is a problem for you because they break the law (which they don't, but put that aside for the moment), but illegally entering or remaining in the country is fine?

@TheHammer Insofar as people who ARE illegal immigrants don't have it branded on their skin, investigation isn't instantaneous- so no, that's not the issue. Police brutality, and even militarization, ARE real concerns, but all this rhetoric does is undermine good faith questioning of, and investigation into, them.
And most of the people calling for ICE to be defunded or destroyed aren't exactly stupid, which is the source of the danger- they assume intelligence means they're immune to brainwashing, and so they don't question what they're told to believe. The result is, in fact, cognitive dissonance, writ large.
It will be interesting to watch ICE all lose their jobs once Rump is gone, which will be soon hopefully. That department will be shrunk to nothing within 2 years.
