Yes, I'm pro-Palestine.. No, I'm not in 'solidarity' with every pro-Palestine..

I've seen a lot of selective empathy within the "solidarity" groups..

When I say I'm pro-Palestine, it means I believe they deserve the right to live like everyone else, I believe that they deserve peace, clean water, food and freedom just like everyone else.

I'm not pro Hamas, and I'm not against Jews or Israelis. I'm against what the IOF are doing, I'm against settlers stealing land and homes.

Basically - I'm with the innocent on both sides, and I'm against evil no matter what they call themselves. I find it horrible when children die, no matter what country they're in.

I remember going to an event, and a Jewish guy looked at us, one girl yelled at him, and I instantly looked at her - not him. From that moment I looked at her different, cause she acted hateful against someone who simply just stood there looking at us. He didn't say anything, didn't do anything, he was just there.

So many people claim to be 'humanitarians', they claim to care about people, yet their care is selective af.

When I share about Christians being murdered, or someone who don't look like them, the silence is noticeable. Sadly.

I had to reword rhis because SW isn't allowing profanity.

I know taking this stance brings intense backlash, but the truth shouldnt be burried no matter how inconvenient it is.

M deny it.

Jews deny it.

But as someone who carries both Jewish and Muslim heritage in my blood, I will speak about it.

It is the same problem in both population..the exact same thing.

In my years as an activist, I have repeatedly watched collective movements hide behind a narrative of absolute victimhood to excuse their own bigotry.

I have stood in spaces fighting for people’s liberation, only to have those same spaces turn around and spew blatant bigotry directly to my face, often forgetting who I am, or conflating identity with state action.

I have watched people demand unconditional solidarity while offering zero tolerance for minorities like LGBTQ+ or their rights in return.

They use slogans for their own rights and stay silent when others are targeted within their own communities.

Like i said many times before, I would not trust the collective one bit and I know their nature. I know how fickle and unreliable they are. And much of it has to do with them using victimhood to mask oppression. The monopoly of victimhood dangerous thing. This is why you will find people who are M but never been victims of Israel yet strongly anti sem. It has become an identity, something to latch unto to justify their own biases. And the reality is there are elements in both ideologies that are strongly bigotted which lend hand to these awful propogations.

As activists, true principle cannot be a bartering system. My and your fight for human rights was never conditional on whether the people we advocate for treat us well, agree with us, or hold standard moral consistency (they dont)

It is anchored in integrity and values. We must be honest enough to call out prejudice and its prevelance, even within the movements we support, because real justice requires accountability, not double standards.

Advocate for their rights, don't think they would do the same..and don't think they are all actual victims..just like jews who bring up the nazis.

If people were by large good, we would not be in the mess we are today.

@Miram I love you Miram! I agree, and that's what I was trying to say, that I've seen some things within the solidarity community that I don't agree with. I couldn't hate someone simply for where they come from, what religion they have or their race, but I see some people doing exactly that..

You're good, I appreciate you 🫂💖
Miram · 31-35, F
@Cassieee It is systematic and large scaled.

What you're seeing is real, it exists for the minorities every single day..what remains of us. Just uncomfortable to admit by the white/ black type of logic due to decades of enablement.

And even more uncomfortable and difficult to address. There is evil and then there is evil disguised as good..

And worse than both is apathy.
I'm proud of you.
You can be pro humans should just get to live in peace no matter where they live ....
Nightwings · F
@Chern0bylplaygr0unds Yeah but there was never peace in Israel because of Palestine. /=
@Nightwings when will it all end ? It's ridiculous... innocent people on both sides dying because some people can't let it go ...can't think of the innocent dying who didn't ask for this ...were just born into it ...it's effed up on both sides ...one side isn't more right than the other..
Both are guilty in their own ways ....
I'm glad you talk about Palestine because not many do on here and it goes a long way. I also know where you stand because I've seen you talk about this before so this isn't criticism on your support but rather my take is on how this conversation is even considered on a wider scale and why systemically it's rooted in racism.

It's the whole "all lives matter" approach in a situation where there's clearly an oppressor and an oppressed. Why's the onus always on Palestine supporters to justify that they're not extremists? It's a weaponised rhetoric tool that dismisses specific targeted suffering and erases the power dynamics at play.

Truthfully, of course there's gonna be absolute dumbasses that are gonna target Jews and Muslims outside of this conflict. This follows all movements which we've seen before. It's important to speak out against both. But what I'm not gonna let people do is conflate regular people with governments/militants. Nobody interrogates the American population for their stance when the US invaded/s and killed millions. It's simply to paint Palestinians and their supporters as inherently violent and in the end no amount of defending yourself is gonna convince people that are already caught up in justifying genocide. They don't actually care about any sides, it's all for their own self interests and to maintain their privileges in the political hierarchy.

Also, for a bigger picture, there's also Christian Palestinians that are being killed. The IDF striked one of the oldest churches in Gaza. People need to start looking at the world with a lil more nuance.

@HijabaDabbaDoo I know and I agree with you.
This was not against Palestinians, but directed against specific people I’ve met in solidarity groups that claims to be humanitarians, and also some that seem to say free Palestine as a trend rather than actually caring for the people. Which I mean, go wild but some of them makes us look bad.. 🥹

So even tho I’m in solidarity with a lot of people, I can’t say that I stand with everyone just cause they’re on the right side of this. And I care for innocent people that suffer, no matter who they are.
@Cassieee I hear you. I typically avoid people like this. There's always gonna someone to take away from a just cause.

I think we're talking about two different things. Neither are wrong. I'm just passionate lol
Cassieee · 31-35, F
@HijabaDabbaDoo I try to avoid them as well, but I’m in some groups where I «have to» see them, so it’s gotten on my nerves a few times to many.

No worries, I’m also passionate, nothing wrong with that 🥹

I feel like everyone's forgetting all the Palestinian terror attacks that lead up to Israel's decision. I find it particularly hypocritical when Americans still whine about their 9/11 now 20 years after the fact, but think Israel is wrong for getting rid of Palestine ~ like, Americans would not have hesitated one second to do the same if they were in Israel's shoes. Israel was extremely patient suffering terror attack after terror attack, knowing they could easily wipe them out and didn't do it for the longest time. I think something had to change, it couldn't continue like this, but of course I feel for the Palestinians who were just minding their own business and were killed or had their lives uprooted now. I love all people, and any harm coming to amyone is a terrible thing. I understand the decision Israel took, but I don't understand why it had to happen in such a barbaric manner, instead of being an organized procedure which could have spared a lot more people than it did. I think that's disappointing and a large reason why so many people are upset by it.

There is something very worrying going on in the Gaza Strip. According to the Aid organisations, medical help still has difficulty getting through. Half the population is unde fifteen. The world looks on and ignores the plight.

Muslims and Christians are harassed on the West Bank. It is not Israel’s land by some divine right!

The Christians in Southern Lebanon are told to leave their homes.

All I can do is pray daily for God’s goodness to prevail.
brainrapist · 31-35, F
Hey, so, you can’t really be pro-Palestine and pro-Israel :)
BohoBabe · M
@brainrapist You can in the sense that you can oppose Israel's apartheid, but not Israel's existence.
Also, this post is more about the individuals caught up in the actions of Israel's government.
Birdbox1986 · 31-35, F
@brainrapist why not
Cassieee · 31-35, F
@Cassieee Let me just add that I’m pro-Palestine, never claimed to be pro-Israel. Always been pro-Palestine, ever since I was a pre-teenager, and never changed my opinion even once. With that being said, I don’t wish evil on anyone. Innocent children don’t deserve to die no matter where they’re born, or what they identify as.
Pfuzylogic · M
This is something I researched on Google recently. I understand that the IDF raped and murdered women and sadly I am not surprised since they are under the leadership of Netanyahu. I believe he like Trump likes to make things worse to cover the crimes they have committed.
Cassieee · 31-35, F
@Pfuzylogic They’ve done a lot of horrible things.
Pfuzylogic · M
@Cassieee I am so disenthralled when trump minimizes the razing of Palestine by promoting a “Riviera of the Middle East”. It gets me in the gut. I apologize if that is too visceral.
Cassieee · 31-35, F
@Pfuzylogic I hate them both. Anyone who believes they can play God with other peoples lives, are dangerous and not someone I’d want to look up to or ever be around.
