Maybe I don't need to leave for good..

But I do need a little break..
The last few days I've been so exhausted, and mostly slept.
I'm still in pain, and physio didn't help anything. I'm having surgery soon, hopefully that will help a bit.

I've also been feeling a strong calling to get closer to God over the last two weeks. I walked around the other day and ended up at church, I took a picture of our fasting schedule (yes, Christians also fast - some of us). I haven't decided on when or if I'm doing fasting, but I'm feeling a need to learn more, be more involved, and pray more. Take a break from things that don't fuel me, and in a way cleanse my soul and body.. I have so many dreams and plans but they're all fogged up with negativity and pain, so it's hard to work towards something that I can't even see clearly. Not sure if any of this makes sense, it makes sense for me^^

Fasting for us doesn't necessarily need to follow a specific timeline, and it doesn't have to be about food. Fasting can be about not eating or drinking certain things like sugar, meat, alcohol or things you're addicted to. It can be about fasting from social media, your phone, TV, or anything in your life that takes up a lot of your time. It's about making more time for God, praying, reading the bible and growing. You're also not supposed to share that you're fasting with others, it's supposed to be between you and God. I think it's beautiful.

This is why I sort of rely on you for hope. Your faith in God or at least some kind of higher power is inspiring for me.

And yes, your post makes sense. If the God described in the bible exists, he would want you to be calm and feel loved, first and foremost. It's a human necessity. I appreciate you seeking balance. If you decide to take a break, we'll be here waiting for you.

Don't leave us without your sense of hope for too long, okay? 🤗
Totally get it. Fasting is such an introspective experience when done properly. The world around you continues as it is and you're just that little bit more still than you were before. You don't rely on your usual senses to gratify yourself.
With it being the last few nights of Ramadan and also the window where we believe in the night of power, i think it's cool you have a calling to wanna fast. I've also seen Christian friends fast many times before. Like you said it's a personal thing. If it helps you, I hope you find some peace with it.

I understand the calling to get closer to God. I felt that when I perceived my life heading for a crisis years ago.

Your post is a reminder to me to make more time for the very things you list toward the end.

Thank you.

And, whether you take a break from here for a while or leave for good, I pray for good things for you on your journey.
