This may be a pretty patently obvious thing for me to point out, but it occurred to me tonight, and I thought I would share in case it could help

someone else...

We always talk about taking one step at a time, in a positive direction, to meet our goals. In this way, we often hyper focus on that singular step and think it was the only one we could take that day.

But..think about allllll the other steps you had to MAINTAIN from your PAST efforts, in order to take that singular step.

Think about how..you couldn't have lost a pound without maintaining the other pounds you lost. How you couldn't have gone out to your garaged car...without that roof over your head.

How you couldn't have gotten ready to go this morning on your own, had your arm still been in that cast....How you couldn't have gotten out of bed without the sheer will to overcome your depression.

We forget JUST how much there is to be grateful for.

Sounds like you've been doing a lot of reflecting and improvement. I like what you said, it's true.

What about little steps that are long overdue? Like being a decent person at the age of 29?

@foldedunfolding Is it something to feel good about myself for, like you said? Or is it too little too late?

Nice thoughts !
100%. Every day is uphill, so not slipping back is one level of achievement.
