Because we are born into a society and train to be like this. Any situation your born into becomes your idea of normal.
Then you as you grow you make decisions and react to emotions that shape your life. The things you hold on to become your your habbits.
Humand are social creatures so you find other like minded individuals with similar habbits or experiences. This then justifies your behavior and you defend your habbits because your idea of normal has been validated by a group.
This is why everyone has thier own idea of what the world is like, or should be.
