A proper trifle should consist of sponge fingers, raspberry or strawberry jelly (that's jello in your language), some sherry if you want it to taste like your nan's breath smells, then a layer of custard and a layer of whipped cream. You can add sprinkles on the top if you wish, or flaked almonds if you want to choke like you're choking on a pube. You can also add fresh strawberries or raspberries into the jelly and sponge base if you want to pretend that you're healthy 👏
