Never build your contentment around other people

People should only be an addition to your sense of contentment. If you cannot feel contented on your own then you're not truly at peace with yourself and that's where you need to begin. Furthermore, being at peace with yourself allows you to present your best self to others whilst also retaining control of your relationships to a greater degree.

This is not to say that you shouldn't love and shouldn't grieve, only that you should be enough on your own that you can still find reasons to be alive. That should always be the goal, no matter how unrealistic it might seem.

Also, titties 👏

Studies show that humans are hardwired to seek permanent companionship with one person they trust above everyone else. So while it's healthy to have some independence, we all ultimately are happier and healthier with a partner.

@DearAmbellina2113 yes, maybe.
But I'd rather be single than be in a miserable relationship.

@DearAmbellina2113 Not me, I was always less happy. Our wiring varies greatly from person to person and we are not slave to it. You could argue with equal veracity that we are hard wired to kill, to be carnivores, etc.
