Doesn't make it any easier though. Sigh. Maybe in another life everything will get easier.

I know someone (a college friend of my sister's) who took a taxi to go to the airport. The driver was taking the worst possible choices of routes and was stuck in congested traffic the whole way.
When they finally got to the airport, he swore at the driver, grabbed his luggage, and ran inside without paying.
He missed his flight.
He was furious.
Until he learned that the plane crashed. There were no survivors.
