It's a self destructive mindset You see it most often in addictive personalities. For example, alcoholics typically blame everyone else for all the problems they have in their lives. It's a rare person who attends AA meetings regularly and accepts responsibility for their addiction.
Drug addicts, narcissists, and people who are mentally ill also fall into this category.
