Need to vent....

As an RN working in orthopedics, I am constantly amazed at the number of morbidly obese people coming to the office complaining of knee pain, ankle pain, lower back pain and hip pain!!!!...and they have no idea why!! OMG, I feel like telling these people to try losing 100 pounds and they may feel the improvement. When someone 5'1'' weighs 280 pounds or more, don't you think they would have an idea they may be slightly overweight and stressing their joints??????????????????? STUPID people!!!!!!!!!! Disgusting too!!!!

These are the members of the lard and drone generation, content to stare at a screen all day long.

Health insurance premiums are going through the roof and a big reason is because of people who choose to disconnect from the real world and the movement of their bodies.

@therighttothink50 The American obsession with cars may have to do with it as well. When I was in the US I could see people drive in their cars to the drug store which was just a 5 minute walk away.

That could be true.

But cars represent freedom, the ability to go where you want and do what you want. People who value freedom do not want to be part of a Communist hell hole where cars become unaffordable (electric cars) and 15 minute cities become a normality.

Europe by and large has embraced Communism and losing most of its freedom and privacy is the result.

@therighttothink50 Thank you – my remark wasn't meant as a political comment, just a comment on some people's laziness. Actually, where I live, if you took your car to get to a place that's only a 5 minute walk away, people would ask you if there's something wrong with you today, and if you are perhaps too sick to walk?

@therighttothink50 Well, lets have the total dismantling of social security measures and minimun health care just because everyone who's in pain is really lazy and not worth our money because they really aren't worth it because they can't grin and bear it. Marvelous! What a caring and high cultured society we have indeed
