Finally, gym after more than 2 weeks!

After my 10k run, I felt like my strength and energy took a long vacation. I was congested and had flu-like symptoms 2 days later and was on bed rest until the rest of the week. The following week, I still didn't feel I was up to doing strenuous exercise --- which I have grown to love because of the endorphins and that I sleep really well after exercising.

Today, I did mostly weight training and did a 200-meter fast run on the treadmill. I really don't want to end up being a weekend warrior, so this means I want to be back in the gym 2 or 3 more times before the week is up.

Unfortunately, I miss running outdoors. We have been getting heavy rain almost every day.

I posted a similar pic a few weeks ago. I am particular about addressing the saggy parts of me. Just to be clear, it's not because I hate the way my body looks such that I want to push hard. I am enjoying the feeling of becoming stronger, quicker, and less prone to exhaustion. I have seen the effects of poor health on my loved ones, and I want to do what I can to live a quality life.

Can't really say disease-free, because I already have things to watch out for like high blood pressure, gall bladder stone, osteoarthritis, and who knows what else awaits at my postmenopausal stage.

I hate talking about ailments. I'd rather talk about plans to run another 10k next month or hitting the pool doing laps wearing a mermaid tail.

P.S. Don't DM for naughty reasons. It's mid 2023 and I can post by big butt here and feel respect for myself at the same time. :)

Don't act more self-righteous now, you probably have darker, more sinister thoughts of hatred and whatever toxicity you have itching to manifest itself in your comments.

I’m about to turn 69 and I still try and make it to the gym about 5 days a week. I do enjoy my workouts and being retired now, I have no excuses not to. I’ve been blessed with good health, with the exception of worn out knees, and take no medications. I do feel that’s due to trying to eat right and keeping up a good exercise routine. Keep doing what you’re doing! Looking good and feeling better about yourself is a really nice result!

@TravisTx That is so inspiring!

Wow! Impressive ! I need to get into working out again especially since the stroke in 2017 and the torn tricep I currently have. I have not worked or did anything of a physical nature since August of last year.

Keep up the hard work! You look great!

@IamCuriousBabe yes pretty much. I still have a slight droop and my balance isn’t that great and my nerves on the right side were affected a little , I’m fully functional. I was able to go back to work.

@pillowman That's good to know!

I enjoy your exercise updates, and not only for the photography, LOL. I find it increasingly hard to stay in shape as I age and have nagging injuries, but it’s worth the effort. I can tell it’s paying off for you!

@IamCuriousBabe PS Your tan lines are remarkably similar to mine. 😆

@Harmonium1923 It got more pronounced when I went freediving. Wish I could go to a beach somewhere and even it up a bit.

Keep up the good exercise routine. Working out and generally doing things to improve our health( and bodies) should always be about how you feel personally, not because what others may thing or say about your appearance.
If you were running in front of me in a 10k, i think that your cute booty would be my inspiration…just sayin😉
IamCuriousBabe · 51-55, F
@Rickinnc That is awesome!

@IamCuriousBabe thanks Babe! Your doing an amazing job if your running 10ks…and the sexy pic you posted confirms it. I like ppl with your mindset…Middle Aged but still moving forward and striving to do better
IamCuriousBabe · 51-55, F
@Rickinnc I told my cardio recently, people must not think the 50s is the time to slow down. The fact that we are getting worn down means we must keep moving. And what's stopping us? It's not like we are busier in life, liking people better, by no means are we socializing more. It's a huge me-time stage in life.

You do look in great shape. The saggy bits are not an indicator of your health or your strength. Its genetics. You will and can lose them. Keep up all that hard work and you will achieve your target body and fitness. Don't give up
