Finally, gym after more than 2 weeks!

After my 10k run, I felt like my strength and energy took a long vacation. I was congested and had flu-like symptoms 2 days later and was on bed rest until the rest of the week. The following week, I still didn't feel I was up to doing strenuous exercise --- which I have grown to love because of the endorphins and that I sleep really well after exercising.

Today, I did mostly weight training and did a 200-meter fast run on the treadmill. I really don't want to end up being a weekend warrior, so this means I want to be back in the gym 2 or 3 more times before the week is up.

Unfortunately, I miss running outdoors. We have been getting heavy rain almost every day.

I posted a similar pic a few weeks ago. I am particular about addressing the saggy parts of me. Just to be clear, it's not because I hate the way my body looks such that I want to push hard. I am enjoying the feeling of becoming stronger, quicker, and less prone to exhaustion. I have seen the effects of poor health on my loved ones, and I want to do what I can to live a quality life.

Can't really say disease-free, because I already have things to watch out for like high blood pressure, gall bladder stone, osteoarthritis, and who knows what else awaits at my postmenopausal stage.

I hate talking about ailments. I'd rather talk about plans to run another 10k next month or hitting the pool doing laps wearing a mermaid tail.

P.S. Don't DM for naughty reasons. It's mid 2023 and I can post by big butt here and feel respect for myself at the same time. :)

Don't act more self-righteous now, you probably have darker, more sinister thoughts of hatred and whatever toxicity you have itching to manifest itself in your comments.

Keep up the good exercise routine. Working out and generally doing things to improve our health( and bodies) should always be about how you feel personally, not because what others may thing or say about your appearance.
If you were running in front of me in a 10k, i think that your cute booty would be my inspiration鈥ust sayin馃槈

@Rickinnc I am quite careful about my lower back. I wear a support belt. Strange though, I forgot to put it on the day of the 10k run and thankfully I had no issue. I can't take things for granted though.

@IamCuriousBabe well you seem to be doing fabulously! I hate growing older but I do have injuries from my time in the Marine Corps. So they are catching up to me.
But you seem to be not to far off your goals. Just don鈥檛 ever stop! Keep moving is my motto

@Rickinnc In that case, it's safe to swim and bike.

@Rickinnc I told my cardio recently, people must not think the 50s is the time to slow down. The fact that we are getting worn down means we must keep moving. And what's stopping us? It's not like we are busier in life, liking people better, by no means are we socializing more. It's a huge me-time stage in life.
