Welcome to the asylum. The "about" is the first thing I read.

I read every About Me of every profile I look at. It helps me to decide if I want to talk with someone or not. I also look at their forums before I start any conversation with them.

Hahaha..... here there be a bit of everything from PG to XXXX. From angels & museums to gutters. Lots of nice people, but beware here there be lions, tigers, bears, dragons & trolls.

I did read, and do like your 'About me', but many sadly do not bother.

Once upon a time, there was a place called EP, or the Experience Project. It was a very nice place. It seems like there was a lot more civil discourse there. You could actually have polite and civil conversations with people who had different perspective and opinions than you.

I am so glad this election is over. The biggest problem is the choices we were presented. These are honestly the best possible available? Needless to say I have a very low opinion of the donald, and I didn't care for Harris. Actually think that Nikki Haley should be the President-elect. Its ok if you don't agree.

The thing is you're new to the site so over a 100 people have viewed your profile very recently.

I'm sure many of them will of clicked the 'About Me' section read it and not contacted you. Some won't of read it at all and I'm sure a small number will of read it and still sent you a PM, just trying their luck. You know you'll always get a small handful of people like that on any site.

You're new. So I'm not likely to even read it. It's like reading about a shooting star. There's so many shooting stars.

Given enough time and posts I likely will read it.

I have been on here since 2016. Too many shooting stars on here since then.

My own about me is quite lengthy, in addition to all the posts, awards and literally tens of thousands of groups. Even the moderator of four of those groups.

I always do. My response to people with your politics is to avoid any political discussion. I have some very nice friends here who are diametrically on the opposite side. We chat a lot, but we should say clear of those subjects

I do not really think it an actual excuse, but your profile image will attract lots of attention.

Some take the time, some don’t. You have a beautiful PFP so a lot of guys here are going to skip over everything and hope you get sexy with them. Block those and comment in what you’re interested in. Hopefully you’ll find a good group 😊

First of all, welcome! Next, thank you for putting something in the 'About me'. It is the first thing that I look at to decide if I want to interact with anyone. I also look at their forums to see if we have anything in common.

Just block anyone that messages you without first interacting with you though the posts first.

Don't stress it. Don't worry about it.
Just block them and ignore them.

Whatever you do don't try to explain it to them.

This site can be good, bad, or indifferent.
You basically create your corner of it by the way you choose to use it and who you decide to interact with.

It might help a little to put that in your message introduction too. There will still plenty of people who ignore it probably, but maybe a little less.

About me is somewhat like terms of service on a website. Seldom read completely if at all.

It may be because people don't read About Me's, but it might also be because people are obsessed over getting into your dm's but don't have a uhhhh... pathway to it.

Like, when I came across your profile, I was interested in hearing about you, but noticed a lot of conservative stuff. I'm more liberal, but I can respect other people's opinions. We all want to make the world a better place, but just have a different idea about how to get to that destination.

With that being said, maybe others don't know how to approach a political conversation with you in a public space, so they just skip to the dming part lol.
